Suzuki Flutes 2023

We are delighted to invite students, parents and teachers to attend a Suzuki Flute Workshop on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February 2023 in Surrey.

Once registration has closed we will issue details of the repertoire that will be covered
so that you can prepare the pieces in advance of the day.

Over the course of the workshop everyone will be able to take part in eight sessions
which will include masterclasses, ensembles and repertoire groups.

There will be a student solo concert each day of the workshop so that everyone who
would like to has the opportunity to perform. A rehearsal with the accompanist will be
scheduled before the concert.

The Faculty
The workshop will be hosted by Suzuki Musical Sparks (Sarah Ruse and Tina Wilkinson).
Confirmed tutors joining us are Sarah Hanley, Nikki Hopkins (Shorland) and Liz Hargest.

Workshop at Banstead Community Centre, The Horseshoe, Off Bolters Lane,
Banstead Village, Surrey, SM7 2BQ.

This is a few minutes walk from Banstead Village which has a number of coffee shops,
Waitrose, M&S Simply Food and Tesco Express.

Directions
By Car:
Banstead Village is 15 minutes from Junction 8 of M25. Signposted A217 towards London
(S&W) and Sutton. There is a pay and display car park right next to the community
centre and some street parking. On Sunday there is parking in the car park, in the
street and also in the unused health centre car park.

By Train:
The nearest station is Banstead which is 15 minutes walk. Banstead station has less
frequent services than Sutton so it may be better to go to Sutton and then catch an S1
bus to Banstead Village alighting at M&S which is a few minutes walk from the
community centre.

Accommodation for Saturday Night
There are a couple of hotels to chose from that we have used in the past. The Premier
Inn is closest but more isolated if you are thinking of eating in a restaurant rather than
the hotel on Saturday night. Holiday Inn in Sutton has more facilities.

Premier Inn Epsom South, Brighton Road, Burgh Heath, KT20 6BW
35 minutes walk / 6 minutes drive from Banstead Village (free car park)

Holiday Inn, Gibson Road, Sutton, SM1 2RF
10 minute drive / 35 minute bus ride (free car park, pool, spa, gym)

There are a number of other hotels locally in Epsom Downs and Sutton.
