An education in performance and pedagogy, spanning Wales and Austin, Texas, set the stage for the founding of Songbird Rising Suzuki School. For over a decade, Laura has guided hundreds of students in Austin, TX, on their musical journeys.

Songbird Strings of Texas hails from the famously musical city of Austin, Texas. Representing the Songbird Rising Suzuki School and honoring a combined 100+ years of dedicated study, our students are excited to showcase their hard work with a program of classical, fiddle, and popular music. Aged from 7 to 16, these impressive young students are sure to wow with a musicality that defies their age.

The ensemble’s story is told in the school's ideals: Growth, Joy, and Community, and by a long-held dream of director, Laura Poyzer to return to her homeland with her students. Across Edinburgh, Chester, Bristol, Bath, and London, our performance celebrates friendship, fun, and enthusiasm for new experiences. The tour is an incredible opportunity for our student's growth as musicians and as people.
